I like to give myself a project to work on over the holidays. This break, I wanted to experiment with Control Rigs in Unreal Engine 5. The goal was to build a custom control rig and bring my own Woolly Rhinoceros to life.
I sculpted the Woolly Rhino in ZBrush. Low poly, rigging, weight painting, and groom were done in Blender. Textures in Substance Painter. Custom control rig set up, animation and final scene were created in UE5.
I’m always so impressed by the power and possibilities of Unreal Engine. I really love diving into the program more and more with these projects. The next goal is to get this Woolly Rhino into a scene with my Neanderthal character.
